Our Story

House of Mandarin is The Chocolate Spoon Company’s first foray into Asian cuisine, the Bandra outpost was launched in 2017 and building on its popularity and success, the Powai outlet was launched in November 2019. We opened our 3rd outpost in Pune at the Sheraton Grand hotel in February 2021.

The menu comprises both contemporary and classic dishes with an array of dim sum and an exquisite selection of sushi. Seafood forms an integral part of the menu with the freshest catch used in all preparations.

Drawing from Asian influences, the beverage menu features inspired signature cocktails and mocktails for the teetotallers. In addition, the bar is stocked with fine wines and premium spirits from across the globe. We also have an extensive, true-to-tradition oriental tea menu.

The desserts are quite the highlight, featuring signature creations by Rachel Goenka such as Seven Textures of Hazelnut and Chocolate, Belgian Chocolate and Mandarin Dome with Cointreau and Sticky Toffee Pudding with Caramel Sauce, Candied Ginger & Vanilla Ice Cream.

Our Team

RACHEL GOENKA

Founder & CEO of The Chocolate Spoon Company, (Chef) Rachel Goenka is a young and seasoned entrepreneur, best known for her innovative delicacies and trademark desserts. She attended The Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, where she trained under celebrity chef Rachel Allen, and then moved to Le Cordon Bleu in London to specialize in patisserie. Rachel is the youngest member of the Management Committee of the National Restaurants Association of India. She is also the author of the award-winning recipe book – ‘Adventures with Mithai’.

KARAN KHETARPAL

Karan Khetarpal is the CEO, Indian Express Commercial Ventures and serves as Director – The Chocolate Spoon Company. Karan is an Investment Banker with nearly 10 years of experience, with Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank in the Sales & Trading division covering Sovereign Wealth Funds, Financial Institutions, Hedge Funds, and Insurance Companies.

TUSHAR MEHTA

Tushar Mehta is the Group Strategic Officer of The Chocolate Spoon Company. Tushar brings with him over 30 years of experience in retail and sales. His immense experience includes ; CEO – Phoenix Market City, Pune, CEO – Amanora Mall, Pune & CEO – Ishanya Mall, Pune.

AMIT BHATIA

Chef Amit Bhatia is the Director – Culinary of The Chocolate Spoon Company. Chef Amit began his culinary journey in 2007 in London at Galvin at the Windows and at The Intercontinental Hyde Park. In Mumbai, he has worked at several notable restaurants in India such as Le Pain Quotidien, 212 Bar & Grill and Levo.

REEM IQBAL

Reem Iqbal is the Head of Marketing at The Chocolate Spoon Company. With over 7 years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, corporate communications & public relations, she has been instrumental in successfully launching new concepts and outlets. She has worked with brands like the Marriott Group, Lodha Builders, Bunge Foods and GroupM ESP to name a few.
